Our Profile

As an established interior design studio based in Mangawhai, Northland, Wolfe offers bespoke designs for coveted residential homes and commercial projects from Auckland to Langs Beach, Mangawhai, Matakana and Omaha.

Wolfe believes that interior design is about self-expression. From concept to completion, every client and project is unique. The studio’s boutique team work collaboratively and intelligently to deliver timeless design that continues to delight, long after a project is complete.
With long-standing industry relationships, Wolfe works closely with architects, landscape designers, art consultants and leading design professionals.

For more than 20 years, founder Kim Munro has curated a diverse portfolio for high-end residential and commercial clientele.

More recently, the studio explored what interior design services could (and should) look like for their business. They discovered an unwavering commitment for putting the client at the heart of every decision and delivering bold, yet intuitive design. Out of this valuable exercise came a revitalisation of their brand. Formerly Munro & Co, the name change to Wolfe Interior Design is an exciting reflection of the company’s values and vision.

Who we are

Wolfe’s philosophy is to work alongside every client in a collaborative manner. Bringing together expertise and inspiration from a wide range of skills, our projects are centred around bespoke design with a timeless aesthetic.

Pioneering interior designer; Elsie de Wolfe is the muse behind our brand. de Wolfe defined the industry in the early 1900s and has our respect for a courageous work ethic that pushed design boundaries. Transforming the interiors of astute homes from dark wood with heavily curtained palaces, into light, intimate spaces featuring fresh colours, furniture and accessories – she really is a darling of the industry.

Her words resonate with our philosophy;

“ To create a home that is like the life that goes with it, a house that gives us beauty as we understand it.

~ Elsie de Wolfe

Our team follows this sentiment with versatility and innovative thinking. With a focus on transformation, we believe in creating spaces that reflect the people who live in them.

Our People

Kim Munro

FOUNDER + LEAD DESIGNER

“Wolfe was launched to convey an exciting inside story for every client. Because good design is about people, I believe the best outcomes are truly collaborative – so our creative process is centred around the client. It’s also about well-being and feeling great in a space. To tie it all together, it means drawing on years of industry experience and respecting the context of the surrounding natural environment, architecture and art.” Kim Munro

In 1996, Kim launched her interior design business in Auckland, before moving north to Mangawhai in 2016. For more than two decades, she has established a diverse portfolio across high-end residential homes and commercial projects.

Honesty, empathy and trust underpin Kim’s success in this industry. She has regularly worked with repeat clients across different projects, which is testament to her talent and connection with people. The client’s vision is at the heart of every decision – she challenges uniformity, explores innovation and is driven by compelling, well-considered design.
Taking an informed approach, she seeks out how a client wants to live, work and celebrate within a space. She believes every piece of furniture, colour, fabric, artwork and lighting should be hardworking, authentic and portray a sense of purpose to a room, client and the wider project.
